The Hague Netherlands / Burlington MA, May 10, 2016 – At the scientific program of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in New Orleans, Elizabeth Yeu, M.D. has presented a retrospective chart review of 50 consecutive patients comparing Cassini Total Corneal Astigmatism (TCA) to the Barrett calculator and the Baylor nomogram.

Cassini TCA achieved 94.0% accuracy within 0.50 D and 74.0% accuracy within 0.25 D postoperative manifest refractive cylinder, compared with 84.0% and 54.0%, respectively, for the Barrett toric calculator, and 79.4% and 50.0% for the Baylor nomogram.

Since the launch of Cassini Total Corneal Astigmatism (TCA) in 2015, many leading refractive cataract surgeons have demonstrated how the unique color LED ray tracing technology enables them to achieve better surgical outcomes. The study from Dr. Yeu confirms the key benefit of measuring the posterior cornea and the impact on astigmatism correction in cataract surgery.
